Frequently Asked Questions ...

Who are your clients?
Our clients are busy professionals who live in the Williamson County area. By and large our clients work in music, technology, medicine, law, and as consultants and small business owners. Most work more than typical working hours each day, and all travel throughout the year for work or for pleasure.

Are there any services you do not provide?
We don't provide service to any clients that keep their pets tied in a yard. We also do not offer baby-sitting services. We also don't provide service to clients who illegally breed or sell animals. Additionally, we reserve the right to refuse service to dogs who have not been socialized with humans and other dogs.

What are your business hours?
We normally start our visits at 8AM with the last visit being at 9PM. You may call or leave messages anytime, however, after 8PM we will not answer the phone unless it is an emergency. The best way to contact us is via email.

What if I have an emergency after your business hours?
In most cases we require 48 hours to schedule service, however, our clients receive emergency contact numbers and may contact us if such a situation arises.

Do you have a contract?
Creature Comforts Pet-Sitting uses a Policies and Procedures document that walks each client through our operational policies, expectations and information necessary to conduct business.

How are you different from other petsitters?
We have a holistic approach to pet care. What I mean by that is that we know there are no cookie-cutter approaches to any animal's care. You can't simply come in, put down the kibble, scoop a litter box, scratch a tummy and be on your way.
We approach each pet's care in the context of their current quality of life with their human family. While we know we can't replicate you, we do our best to maintain a schedule that approximates yours. We take the time to get to know your pet and work hard to provide a primary and secondary sitter who are "yours" for the duration of our relationship.
This approach paired with our training and experience has helped us care for pets in a unique way. We have often been able to find diseases and behavior issues before they become more noticeable and out of hand, and thus saving time, money, and stress.
We are also exclusive in our client list. Our clients have a team approach to their pet's care. They recognize that we are part of that team, as is their groomer, veterinarian and trainer. We work with clients that treat their pets like part of the family and treat their pet-sitters accordingly.
Creature Comforts Pet-Sitting does our best to provide you with last minute care when needed (obviously this isn't possible on holidays or busy travel weekends). We're human and we know you are too. If your boss changes your travel schedule at the last minute, or you've got an ailing parent you need to visit right away, we make sure that you can take care of those things without worrying about your pets.
Basically we guarantee you a guilt-free trip!

What do you mean by saying you are a Professional Pet-Sitter?
We do this FULL TIME as our profession. It is not a hobby for us or just for extra cash. We also have experience and qualifications that set us apart from a novice.

Do you offer services for special needs pets?
Yes, we have experience watching animals with special needs, and have quite a few clients with special needs pets. We can do everything from administering basic meds and supplements, injections, and fluids.

Do you watch aggressive pets?
Depending on the type and level of aggression. This is determined on a case by case basis.

Is there any type of pet or breed you will not care for?
We do not single out different breeds of pets. We are actually quite fond of breeds such as American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, and Rottweilers. We care for all types of animals....exotics, livestock, household and domestic animals.

What happens if it snows or in inclement weather?
Weather conditions have never interfered with servicing our clients. We have a 4x4 vehicle we can use to get to your house in such weather conditions.

What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of me?
Each of our clients is passionate about their pets and their community. They are thorough in their instructions about their pet's care and they keep us in the loop about any changes in the care they need. Additionally, they also tend to be over-acheivers and driven types who enjoy the outdoors, exercising and learning new things. Clients who work best with us are flexible when an emergency arises, have a great sense of humor, and go out of their way to let us know how we're doing.
Overall, our clients are nice people who treat us like a valuable member of their pet-care team, and they refer us to their friends and colleagues who have similar pet-care challenges. We work best with pet-owners who give us ample opportunity to build our relationship with their pets. The more often we see and care for your pets, the better the relationship becomes.
I love seeing our clients and their pets at local events in, and I like to consider our clients more than just clients, but friends.

Can I have a friend or neighbor help with jobs?
We strongly discourage this practice due to past experience… it is more likely than not, to have to deal with problems that arise from a third party not performing the tasks requested of them. Often a lack of communication from the third party inhibits our being able to monitor the pets properly. Without communication as to the pet's condition or what took place during a visit, possible problems may go unnoticed.

What type of pet is your service NOT going to work well for?
Most pets thrive in their home environment, where they can seek solace in familiar scents and comfort zones, even when you're gone, it's rare that our service would not be a fit.

How Long Does It Take To Schedule New Service?
Generally new clients will need at least 72 business hours notice to be added to our schedule. This gives us time to get to know you through a phone conversation, and then send you our Welcome Packet via e-mail. After you receive the packet, your sitter will be in contact to set up an in- person registration meeting that takes place in your home. Please note, generally 2- 3 weeks is required to add new clients during holiday periods like Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. We will not provide service to new clients without conducting the in-person registration meeting first.

What Results Can I Expect from Working With Creature Comforts Pet-Sitting?
You can expect a happy and healthy pet when you get home -- we guarantee you a guilt-free trip! Your pet will be as happy and content when you return as she was before you left! If your dog is putting on weight because of your long work hours (making you feel guilty)-- we guarantee a dog that is happy and exercised every day!

Can I contact some of your clients to see what it's really like working with you?
Absolutely! You may call us at (615) 595-8985 or email us to request references.

What are your service rates?
Our rates page spells out our various visit and service plans. We realize that it's hard to put a price on peace-of-mind, and we do vary our rates based on your specific needs.

Do you accept credit cards?
We do not accept credit cards at this time, but we hope to in the near future.

When is payment expected?
Full payment is expected before any services are rendered. For first time clients we accept payment at the initial consultation. Established clients may leave payment in the form of cash or check for pickup at the first visit.

How far in advance should I book service?
For busy travel times (Holidays and Long Weekends) we recommend that new clients schedule service one month prior to departure. For Midday clients we recommend setting up service with 72 business hours notice.

How long will our relationship last?
For as long as you need us! We've provided daily walks to the same clients for over a year now, and we will continue to watch your pets for as long as you own them.

Okay, I know what service I want - How do I get started?
Simply e-mail us to let us know the type of pet you have, where you live and the type of service desired. We'll get to know you on the phone, walk you through the registration process and send you a Welcome packet to get you started. You'll then meet with your sitter and confirm your service! It's that easy.
